Red DeliciousOne of America's favorites. It's a five star snacking apple, with sweet, juicy and mild flavor.
Known for its deep ruby skin and classic heart shape, it was discovered in 1870, in Peru, Iowa by Jesse Hiatt and has been widely bred and produced since then. It was originally called Hawkeye.
Washington's cool nights and warm, dry days give the Red Delicious its attractive hue.
Usage: Delicious eaten as a snack or in salads.
